Welcome to a deeper perspective on island life
Whether you are a long time islander or a wanna-be resident, this website is a great source for tapping in and connecting to what is happening in our community.
The island community is inclusive, queer friendly and ability focused. We strive to build sustainability and have a strong network of community organizations with many engaged volunteers that are passionate about creating positive local impact.
There are resources here to help you understand the lay of the land beyond being a visitor.
Love where you live – Support Local!

The “Big Night In” is finally here!
We encourage you to make an event of it! Put a blanket out on the lawn, connect some good speakers, order take-out, and serve up some special drinks. Dress up and dance while watching your favorite performing artists from Gabriola Island. We’ve all looked towards the arts during this pandemic, for joy and light and some escapism from the mundane of being on lockdown all around the world.
Couch Fest is a way of giving something to the viewer but also giving the viewer the opportunity to support the performers in our community as well. We want to create that intimate concert vibe that Gabriolans know and love from live events. A concert host will be on-hand to introduce the musicians and host a short post-show with the performers. Support the arts, make a night of it and enjoy!
Buy a Festival Pass for $40 and get links and access to all 11 concerts, or get tickets for individual shows by donation. All performances are 30 minutes, with a short post-show with each performer. Please follow @couchfestgabriola on Facebook for updates.
