Gabriola, Mudge and DeCourcy
The Art of Healthy Eating
Farming on Gabriola has a long tradition going back as far as the mid-19th century. Today, agriculture is still a vital part of the island economy and lately, we are in a renaissance of growth in small and niche market farms, with many farmers and gardeners farming in an ecologically sensitive manner.
You can buy a wide selection of fresh, Gabriola grown vegetables, fruit, baked goods, eggs and meat from our farmers, market gardeners and local stores. From late-spring to fall, plenty is available from a wide network of local farm stands, farms and Farmers’ Markets. During the winter, you can still purchase locally grown eggs, meats and delicious homemade preserves.
