MUSIC: Celebrating Louis Armstrong with The Valley All-Stars @ The Roxy
Sep 22 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

ADMISSION: $20 at the door | Everyone Welcome!

Please join us in celebrating Louis Armstrong & his amazing legacy.

Born into poverty & raised by his grandmother in the Storyville District of New Orleans, Louis Armstrong built a reputation as one of the most famous celebrities during the 20th century. He became known not only as a great trumpeter, but also as a vocalist, actor, comedian, ambassador & political activist. His status as a successful black American inspired millions & many of his personal accomplishments still remain unchallenged. During a career that spanned over 5 decades, this Founding Father of Jazz revolutionized the art of improvisation & scat singing, wrote 2 autobiographies & more than 10 magazine articles, appeared in over 30 films, and composed dozens of songs that have become familiar standards. He performed an average of 300 concerts/year worldwide & has 13 entries in the Grammy Hall of Fame (including Male Vocalist of the Year & Award for Lifetime Achievement). All Hot 5 & Hot 7 recordings have been designated for preservation by the National Recording Registry & his list of gold & platinum albums are impressive as are his hit singles. He is truly recognized as one of the most influential people during the last century.

Featuring a stellar line up of local musicians including Michael Eddy on keyboard, Grahame Edwards on bass, Tom Tinsley on drums, Rachel Fuller on clarinet, Jeff Agopsowicz on slide trombone, and Jake Masri on trumpet & vocals, this multi-talented sextet is sure to guarantee a memorable performance of classic standards plus original compositions.

By all means spread the word & we hope to see you there.

MUSIC: Pete’s Posse @ The Roxy
Sep 23 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

TICKETS: $20 | Available at North Road Sports |

The Vermont trio is at the forefront of American folk music, by any measure. They boast not one but two fiddle champions – who can light into a set of tunes with the best of them. They are also composers, arrangers and writers of songs, serious and comic.

The Posse’s leader and elder is Pete Sutherland, who has been one of the most respected U.S. folk musicians for 40 years. His music has been heard on shows like All Things Considered and This American Life; he was part of the folk super-group, Metamora.

Joining Pete are two young, well, hot shots, Tristan Henderson and Oliver Scanlon. As well as fiddle and guitar, they play mandolin, banjo, jaw harp and keyboards. They clog. As if that wasn’t enough, the Posse sing like a small choir.
